1. Be respectful

Basically, we operate on the Bill and Ted rule of be excellent to each other. Treat your fellow players (and your mods) the way you'd want to be treated - we get that in-jokes and teasing and what have you tend to happen in closed settings like this, and by all means, go ahead and run with them! We're not here to be the fun police, but if someone tells you to knock something off, knock it off. Harassment won't be tolerated; if you're having problems with another player, please don't be afraid to come to the mods and we'll get it sorted for you.

2. IC =/= OOC

In other words: you are not your character. Please don't bring OOC drama into your IC situations, and don't take things said about your character too personally. We're all here to enjoy a good round of putting our characters through cosmic horror hell; if another character grates on yours or has negative things to say, bear in mind that such things aren't aimed at you, the player.

Along those lines, IC knowledge =/= OOC knowledge; just because you know a bit of information doesn't necessarily mean your character does. Use your own good judgment with regards to what your character can reasonably figure out.

3. Keep active

Due to the short-term nature of the game, keeping up a good level of activity is important! We'll be running a weekly AC check-in, as detailed in the FAQ. Failure to report in will result in consequences, so please be sure that you can make that commitment before you apply! Please also remember that Fridays and Saturdays are important days for the game. While we understand that real life and outside obligations happen (and we're always willing to discuss it with you if something comes up!), if you're going to be absent for the majority of the weekends this game may not be a good fit for you, scheduling-wise.

4. Spoilers

Please be amenable to spoilers for any and all canons that may be represented here! This game is absolutely not a spoiler-free zone, so be mindful of that.

5. Code of Conduct

As a whole, the mods are not opposed to sensitive topics being discussed between characters – as long as the content is appropriately warned for (if necessary) and handled with a reasonable amount of maturity, characters can talk about whatever they want. However, inappropriately making light of sensitive subject matter will not be tolerated – these topics include but are not limited to rape, pedophilia, incest, abortions/miscarriages, suicide, or abuse (physical, verbal, emotional/mental, child, elder, spousal, animal, ANY KIND OF ABUSE). A good rule of thumb to use is to ask yourself whether it's possible that someone in the playerbase has experienced or witnessed what you're about to make a joke about; if the answer is yes, do not make a joke about it, simple-as. If you want to comment to this question with "But what about ______?", assume that whatever you're about to ask permission for is off-limits as well.

6. A Remark in Closing

Always remember that the mods are only a PP or PM away, and here to answer any questions you may have! Outside of that, have fun and enjoy the game!
